This is HobbyTrax exclusive LED upgrade for older Hornby Inter City 125 locomotives - those built around the late 1970's to late 1980's with original bulb headlights. This kit is not suitable for any other make or model of HST.

These come with bulbs in both the powered and dummy cars. Our kit provides an easy upgrade to LED lighting for both ends.

Supplied as a kit comprising two pre-assembled boards For DC use simply unclip the tops of the loco's. Identify the wiring, remove the bulbs and solder these boards into place.

Provides correct directional lighting and works with either DC and DCC. Note for DCC use you'll need two decoders, one in the driving car and one in the dummy to correctly operate the headlights.

In DC mode you'll find the LED's come on at full brightness at a much lower speed and do not change brightness.

Full easy-to-follow instructions supplied including fitting the two DCC decoders.

Two versions available. Traditional warm white and modern cool white. If replicating the look of the original 1980's locomotive, we recommend the warm white version.

Please see the photographs and ensure you have the correct model HST. Your loco may have a different livery but the internals must be the same. Our kit is not suitable for the Lima version of the HST.
