HMS Aurora was an Arethusa class cruiser of the Royal Navy. Launched in 1936 and commissioned in 1937, she served with the Royal Navy during World War 2. After the war, she was sold to Nationalist China and renamed the Chung King, only for her crew to defect to join the Peoples' Republic of China Navy. Sunk in March 1949, she was later salvaged, and became the Yellow River, serving as an accommodation and warehouse vessel until the 1990s.
